30 days of being intentional

Years ago we used to always have classical music playing in the kids rooms. I am not sure how or why it started. I am just thankful that it did as it provides a great noise buffer for ....well all of our "noise". :) As the kids got bigger they started listening to klove.com more and more. Then over the last year or so we all switch between KLOVE.com and myflr KFLR really pushes and encourages you to be intentional with your life.

They suggest picking one thing to work on over 30 days. This has really hit home for me. I guess I really haven't thought about being intentional with my life before. While there are many, many things I could choose to work on my first is going to be getting up on time.
This mama loves her sleep. Truly loves it. I also have a hubby that while not working allows me to sleep in. :) Lately I have really been feeling a tug to start getting up before everyone. That is tricky here as we have some early risers. I just think that early in the morning is such a wonderful time to spend with God, get chores going,  and just just be ready for the day. I also have some back problems and it takes some time in the morning to get all stretched out and moving. A lot easier to do when only I am awake and not already chasing toddlers. :)

Well, it has proven to be a much harder challenge than I thought it would be. When my alarm goes off I either turn it off or snooze too many times. Or some nights I don't even set it already letting my desire to sleep in win. I don't think I am an early riser or a night owl. I could go to bed at 11pm and sleep until 7am. That would be nice.  However I have kids up at 6am so then I am already behind the bus....homeschool bus of course.

Anyway, so for the next 30 days I am going to try to be intentional about getting up on time in the morning.  I know I will miss some much loved sleep but I think the benefits will be worth it.  I will probably find myself going to bed a little earlier as time goes on too.  So for now I will be ready and waiting for sunrise. :) and in the desert they are so amazing.
